The science of gardening

Been a few weeks since my last blog post, so I thought it was about time I posted an update. (It’s not that nothing’s been happening; rather, much has been happening, and I just haven’t posted about it. When I say ‘much’, that is, relative to what is usually going on in my world, which is… not much.)

Recently, I enrolled in a unit of online study. It’s called ‘Science of Gardening’. So far, I’ve learned about some of the major plant types and how to identify them. This week, I am learning about how plants grow. Since it’s all online, I can go at my own pace, and not feel rushed. It’s been really good to get my brain semi-engaged again. It has also been helpful to have a veggie garden to work in, and to apply the knowledge I’m learning. (The image of flowering parsley at the top of this post is from the veggie patch I’m working in!)

I wish I could finish this post right here, on a happy note.

However, sadly…

Just yesterday, I received some devastating news relating to a family member. I’ve been coping today by trying to focus on doing housework, to the extent that I’m able. Have done three loads of washing, and a bunch of folding. I still can’t believe what has happened. Not sure if I will ever blog about it. Maybe in a few weeks or months.

It’s just too sad.

That’s enough from me for now, until next week (or perhaps the week after).

Please stay safe, everyone… and take care of yourself.
